Effective November 1, 2022, Sabine has assumed the role of President and CEO after holding a series of progressive leadership roles over the past 23 years.
Sabine was educated as an Occupational Therapist in Germany, and moved to Canada in 1986. For 13 years she worked in various clinical roles as part of the team at Renfrew County’s Community Care Access Centre (CCAC) before being hired by PRH in 1999 as Director of the hospital’s new Rehabilitation program. The next 13 years were spent in Clinical Director roles at PRH for a wide variety of programs. In addition, she helped to lead the major capital expansion in the early 2000s, while helping bring much-needed services closer to home such as cardiac rehab, systemic therapy and new programs serving our geriatric population. In July, 2012, Sabine moved in the position of Vice-President of Patient Services, Seniors, and Community Care where she has been a leader in quality and patient safety and was pivotal in the organization-wide implementation of Lean management. She also helped bring MRI technology to our region, developed ways in which to embed patient and family advisors into our care processes and continued to find ways to form community partnerships through initiatives like Health Links and the early development work for our area's Ontario Health Team. Since January 2021, Sabine served as Senior Vice-President of Clinical and Support Services, Partnerships and Integration. In addition to participating in, and chairing several regional and local committees, Sabine has led the COVID-19 response for the Pembroke Regional Hospital and served in regional roles on the Champlain incident command structure. She continues to support the development of the Ottawa Valley Ontario Health Team (OHT) as a member of the steering committee.
thomas.hurley@prh.ca Dr. Tom Hurley is now in his third year as Chief of staff and in this role, is a member of the Hospital's Board of Directors in addition to being a member of the hospital's Senior Leadership Team.
After completing his MD (University of Western, Ontario, 1995), Dr. Hurley's initial work was as a Flight Surgeon with the Canadian Armed Forces. This included such unique experiences as working with the Disaster Assistance Response Team and providing front-line healthcare during the NATO mission in Kosovo. After leaving the military, he pursued additional training in Emergency Medicine at Queen's University. When not occupied by medicine, Dr. Hurley enjoys his most important job as a father of five children.

Since May 2021, Beth has held the position of Vice-President of Clinical & Support Services and CNE (Chief Nursing Executive) at the Pembroke Regional Hospital.
In 2005, Beth joined the Rehabilitation team as a Clinical Educator with our District Stroke Centre. Since then, Beth has held multiple progressive leadership roles as a Clinical Manager and Clinical Director in Rehabilitation, Medicine, Ambulatory Clinics, Surgery/Operating room and Labour and Delivery Program. As Pembroke Regional Hospital’s cancer care facilitator Beth supported many initiatives allowing quality cancer care closer to home and in 2012 Beth lead the successful launch of our Lean Management journey.
Melanie Henderson, Vice-President, Clinical & Support Services

Melanie joined our hospital's Senior Leadership team in January, 2023. She holds a Master's degree in Social Work and LEAN greenbelt certification.
She has worked at The Ottawa Hospital for over 20 years in various capacities including front line social worker, Manager of Patient Advocacy and Clinical Risk, Director of Clinical Support Services with oversight for Environmental Services, Patient Transportation, Nutrition and Food Services, Contact Centre, Patient Flow and Access as well as various Allied Health Professionals. More recently, Melanie has held the role of Director, Transitional Care, Geriatric Medicine, Rehabilitation and Allied Health Professionals.
Melanie has been integral in the development of several key initiatives at The Ottawa Hospital which include the establishment of the Patient and Family Engagement framework and program, the Operations Command Centre, the Patient Food Transformation and the ALC strategy.
Melanie is passionate about building and elevating leaders and teams, fostering innovation to improve the patient and staff experience, driving changes aligned with the strategic direction where she brings a solid knowledge of the operation and the region. In her spare time, Melanie is also a wife, a mother of three teenagers and a volunteer. She enjoys spending time outdoors with her family kayaking, canoeing, camping, biking, hiking and skiing.

Brent McIntyre, Vice-President of Human Resources at the Pembroke Regional Hospital, joined the Senior Leadership Team in September, 2023, after serving as Director of Human Resources at PRH since February, 2022. He brings with him a wealth of leadership experience, a Master's Degree in Educational Leadership, and a lifelong commitment to the Renfrew County community.
Brent's leadership journey began at the Renfrew County District School Board, where he served in a variety of roles including teacher, Principal and Superintendent.
Brent’s leadership centres on valuing people, fostering diversity, and prioritizing employee well-being, while contributing to the hospital's continued success in providing top-tier health care services.
As Vice-President of Human Resources, Brent McIntyre embodies leadership, education, and community dedication, enhancing Pembroke Regional Hospital's commitment to exceptional care.

Scott joined as the Vice-President, Finance and Corporate Services CFO (Chief Financial Officer) at the Pembroke Regional Hospital in January, 2021, after nearly 20 years of experience in business and financial leadership. His experience includes leadership roles in public accounting and consulting, and financial stewardship roles at private and publicly traded companies.
Scott also has volunteer and community experience, having served on the boards of the YMCA of Eastern Ontario and Lanark, Leeds & Grenville Addictions and Mental Health. Scott holds both the Chartered Accountant (CA) and Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designations and has a Bachelor of Commerce from Queen's University.
